Schools Out Camp

Camp notes to families

Behavior Expectations:

During the camp day, we use educational moments to help campers solve problems, be good friends to other campers and practice good sportsmanship. We incorporate our core values of: Honesty, Caring, Responsibility and Respect. Our highest priority is that all our campers are safe, respected and have the best time while they are with us.

However, in the event that a behavior cannot be resolved or is in extreme nature, you may receive a behavior report at pickup. This report is a communication piece that we use to help explain what is going on and come up with a plan to fix the behavior so all parties involved can have a fun and safe stay at camp. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our Youth Director, Wendy Richards -WRichards@ymcaswfl.org

What to Bring Everyday:

  • Sneakers for running or close toed shoes

  • refillable water bottle with name on it

  • clothes that can get messy (please don't have campers wear any nice school clothes)

  • Bathing suit, flip flops, goggles, towel

  • Book to read (Optional)

  • Spray Sunscreen (for sunny days)

  • Extra change of clothes (just in case)

  • All items in a backpack they can carry (please no sharing bags between siblings)

NO ELECTRONICS

* There will be a strict no phones or electronics policy at camp.

If campers are found with their phone at camp they will be asked to put it away. If it is seen again, it will be taken by the camp coordinator and be returned when they are picked up to go home.

We will be busy reading, playing cards, playing games, making key chains and friendship bracelets, and having fun during our free time at camp, there will be no need for electronics or phones.

If you need to get a hold of your child during camp hours you can call the main desk and we can relay any messages to your child.
